How Wigs by Nicholas Turns 9 in 10 Answered Calls into Bookings

Wigs by Nicholas is a personal, appointment-led wig service in North West London, helping people, many of them going through cancer treatment, find the right wig. Nick Mazer runs it single-handed, so a call mid-appointment meant a client interrupted or a lead lost. He made Cyberstaff's AI Receptionist his public number and stayed with his clients.

“It gives me an air of being bigger than I actually am. It's much better than an answer machine, and it captures a lot more detail.”

Voicemail was a jumble, and a missed client

Wigs by Nicholas is a personal, appointment-led service. Nick chooses pieces for each client to try before they visit, so the work is hands-on and the phone always rings at the wrong moment. When he is with a client, he will not break away to answer it.

Before Cyberstaff, that meant missed calls and the occasional voicemail, with no reliable record of who had rung or when. As Nick puts it, the old way was a jumble. And a name-and-number voicemail greeting does little to reassure someone reaching out at a vulnerable moment.

Why he chose Cyberstaff's AI Receptionist

Nick found Cyberstaff through an Instagram ad, and the free trial sealed it. It was the first AI receptionist he tried, and it stuck. He wanted something that felt more professional than an answer machine and captured the detail properly, while leaving him in control of who he called back and when.

One number that does two jobs

Nick now publishes the Cyberstaff number across his website and literature instead of his personal mobile. That single change filters his wig enquiries away from his private hairdressing clients and captures every lead automatically. When a caller asks how the appointment process works, the AI Receptionist explains it for him.

The result: around 90% of the calls it answers go on to become a booking, and roughly half of all his inbound now runs hands-free. He gets a clean, ordered record of every caller, instant email alerts, and space to add his own notes alongside each AI summary.

He made it his own

Setup took an afternoon. Nick added his own custom questions and loaded in every product he carries, so the AI Receptionist can field detailed questions and quote an average price without him lifting a finger.

No developers, no support tickets. Just a busy owner shaping the system around how his business actually runs.
